Emily's Baptism

Emily turned 8 in July, and we knew her baptism would be scheduled in August. She wanted the theme to be flowers. She loves flowers and wanted them to be everywhere.

She LOVED planning her baptism program. She got to know the Binghams very well because they stayed with us for a few weeks, and she asked Caroline and Taylor to be in charge of music. She asked Morgan and Shauni to speak about the baptism ordinance and the Holy Ghost, and the had some grandparents give prayers.

Em really wanted her baptism to also be a pool party, but we thought it would be better to split those up into two separate occasions.

Emily is such a great girl. She is creative and mathematical. She loves working on problems, from actual math problems to "how can I make this lego figure move" problems. Emily is sassy and strong willed, never says no to a bandaid, and has an evil cackle laugh that will crack you up with ease.

I think the most common phrase I write is "It's wild..." but it is just SO wild that my little newborn Emily is such a big kid. She is our best friend, and we love her fiercely.

Emily, Wade, and Gwen

Emily is wearing the dress my mom made. I wore this for my baptism, and Gwen wore it for hers.

Besties forever.
