July 2024

First and foremost, we celebrated Emily's 8th birthday!!!

When asked what she wanted, she always replied with "a camping trip!" We typically camp every summer,  so this was a cinch of an ask! We'll talk more about camping later.

I took a course on cosmetic injections. I've been wanting to be able to do botox injections cosmetically and functionally, and I completed my course and with a push from Jake, started my business. It's been overwhelming, but in a good way. I'm excited for this new opportunity.

I also accepted a full time job with a public health company in the valley. I will be working full time--4, 10 hour shifts. I started my training and it went well. I'm hopeful this job gives us more financial flexibility and security and I feel really positive. I accepted this job at the end of June, and was told I won't be practicing "regular" hygiene, but that I'll do oral screenings on patients age 0-18. The physical change of this role is very welcomed! Hygiene is hard labor! I also was working several days a week for the entire year, so the dates we planned for Emily's camping trip were something I really looked forward to after a long workweek.

Camping. We reached out to the people we normally go with but they were unavailable. We ended up asking EVERYONE who showed even the slightest interest in camping, but no one was available. (Camping for our family is better with friends because it makes Jake not care as much that he isn't at his comfortable home haha) Because of this, Jake ended our camping trip early. I was bummed because I LOVE camping and had worked all summer with the goal of this camping trip being the big "You did it" hoopla for working so hard, but Emily and Gwen didn't mind. Jake really doesn't like camping, so next time we aren't inviting him hahah!

The Bingham family moved in with us. They moved down from Utah and purchased a new home in STV, but it isn't complete yet, so they needed a place to land for a few weeks. It's been great to have them. It's fun to have family to play games, make meals with, and just enjoy. We're excited for their home to be done, but it'll be weird to have an empty house again. I enjoy the busy-ness that comes from a filled home!

Summer ended, but not before we did everything on the girls bucket list. We swam at every public pool with our pool pass, saw a movie in the theater (Inside Out 2), went to the library, went camping (lol, I'm looking at you, Jake!), had a late night, played games, made cheesecake and snacks, and more. I was impressed with us getting it all done!

We've planned Emily's baptism, but that gets covered next month in August.

Fourth of July!

Independence Day Bois

Gwen and Emily are really into the prom pose and I laugh so much at it.

Camping. Before Jake made us all go home.

At our fabulous camp site. A water bottle leaked so we hung up a quilt to dry and it smelled like the pines. Yum.

More camping smiles

We went on an adventure to Black Canyon Lake. People were fishing and we saw lots of cows.

I don't think we've ever seen so many animals. Coyotes, sheep, and horses.

Wade discovered the magna-tiles this month. He's so funny and destructive. Build something cool? He'll come knock it down.

Me and Gwen before or after work.

Matching aprons!

Swimmer boi.

Smoothie time.

I got a new screen for my botox patients before and after photos.

Meet the teacher night. He loved that big balloon.

Missionaries came over for dinner.

Diamondbacks game

Wade has been playing with Fred so much.

Cinderella at the Hale Theater. Our first time, and we loved it!

Legit, this place was incredible. I'm newly obsessed and now want to go to the next show! Fingers crossed!
