My laptop died, and I don't use a computer for anything other than blogging--so that's why I've gotten months behind on journaling. Jake's desktop is not compatible with my phone, which is incredibly annoying and frustrating, so there may be no pictures for a long time.
We took Emily to the bike park! She wore Gwen's witch costume from Halloween and used Gwen's old pink bike with no pedals, and she tore it up! We have such brave and daredevilish daughters!
We celebrated Jake's birthday with a trip to the mall to get him a new pair of basketball shoes, and we made a pit stop at the Disney store to see his name on their wall!
Emily and Gwen got bright pink dresses to be matchy matchy sisters, and spent a late night at the Merrill's home while I worked a late shift!
Gwen got another shiner (black eye) at her birthday party! We rented a bounce house and invited a lot of friends over, and she hurt herself before anyone had even come over! It didn't slow her down one bit, and neither did the grease fire. Yep. Grease fire. We were trying to make Sonora style hot dogs (bacon wrapped) and we didn't anticipate the grease from the bacon on the flame of the grill. Ooops. Luckily this happened before the party had really started, so the company was minimal! Grammy Jan, grandma Vonnie, and Papa were all there to witness the fire fiasco. hahah! Luckily, the house was safe and we didn't need to call the fire department because Kyli put it out with baking soda. I'd never heard of that trick before, but now I will always have extra to spare for fires. haha! The best part of Gwen's very first birthday party was the pinata! She loved it! I packed that thing so full that it was really difficult to break, so Jake even had the chance to swing at it. .
Jake and I went on a late season Sun's game date! They lost. Big surprise. Good thing we aren't fair weather fans or we'd have been onto a new team a decade ago.
I went on a girl's trip to Disneyland!!!!! It was the best! Allisa, Abby, Esther, and I ditched our responsibilities for a weekend and played it up in California! We stayed in a small hotel near the park, and we rode so many rides, and ate so many things. It was amazing. I can't wait to go back. Our annual passes expired, but I'm already planning on getting them again in 2023! My favorite Disney part of the trip was the brunch we had on Sunday morning. We got reservations on Main Street and people watched while talking the entire time! It was bizarre to experience Disney like that.
