July 2025

We convinced the Forsberg family to come down for the 4th of July since it was a super long weekend! It was so much fun! They came on Thursday and stayed till Sunday. Meredith came to hot yoga with me and I've convinced her its the best. She actually likes it! When they came down later in July, she requested us going again! Its such a weird thing to enjoy since it's so hot and muggy, but we love it.

Tyler bought a ton of fireworks and the kids all loved staying up and playing out with him!

We went to a fun BBQ at our neighbor's (the Barnes family) house and it was so great. We brought ribs, salads, and drinks, and it was so fun! They are great hosts and we played until we were tired and cranky.

Jake had to go to Dallas for a work trip, he had the worst time getting there! His flight was delayed from a massive storm and he got rerouted so far away! He eventually made it to Dallas, but he was so glad to get home.

I quit my job at the public health place. My boss changed my job description and based on that, I knew it was time to be closer to home. I worked there a year and did long shifts with an hour drive each way. Since quitting, I've been back in the private dentistry world and I'm enjoying it! And the best part is being minutes from home and back each evening by 5:30 at the latest! The things I'll miss the most are my sweet coworkers, and surprisingly the drive because I listened to so many audiobooks and being a reader is part of my identity now! Prior to quitting, I was getting through 5-6 books a month, just from my drive!

We went camping! It was so fun! The weather was incredible! It hailed and rained while we were there and soaked everything, but the sun came out and dried everything up so well by a few hours later. We went and explored Young, AZ. It was beautiful. Very small. The road to get there was bumpy and I was surprised by that. I want to go again from a different route to see what the road is like. It was beautiful.

Emily got sick on our camp trip, poor baby. She started crying in the middle of the night and I woke up with her. At first she thought it was a headache, but she quickly realized she was tummy sick. She threw up and felt a lot better and was able to sleep again. As soon as she sun rose, she woke up and felt sick again. We packed up as quick as we could and got on the road to get her home. By the time we got home, she'd thrown up a few more times but felt much better.

We celebrated her birthday the following day! She got breakfast at Crackers and Co, had lunch here, and requested "American BBQ" for dinner, specifically hamburgers like In N Out. We had the best time celebrating our favorite youngest daughter! It's hard to believe she's 9! Emily is stubborn and loyal. She will forgive everyone but struggles to forgive herself. She is the most creative girl I know. Everything she sees has the potential to be something bigger or better. She is a fashionista, and often gets mad when Gwen copies her, but we've told her she's influential! Ha! We love that girl so much. She got a realistic looking baby doll, a Labubu, books, and money! She LOVES to shop, and that's what we're going to do. Shop till she drops.

The girls got their teacher assignments and we went to the meet the teacher! They got new backpacks this year and new lunch boxes. They're so excited for this school year.

The first picture is never in order how I want but it has to be the picture I want near the title in the blog opening. So here is Jake and I camping.

Gwen's rash, can you see the turtle outline?

My summer nails! The pink and white stripes one didn't last because it ripped off when I was packing up sleeping bags. Don't know how, but I survived.

Haircutes. Get it?

Jammies

More haircutes

and more haircutes.

Jake took a car to work, and the other was getting work done, but I needed to get this water jug. I rode the scooter all the way to Ace in downtown Mesa, got it and a replacement valve, and jerry rigged it into a backpack to get it home. The guy watching me at the store gave me a nod and thumbs up when I started to leave. He'd watched me pull the strap out of my pocket and I know he was proud of me. I was proud too, so I made Gwen take this picture hahah!

No one else is comfy near Wade, but he always has enough room.

I whacked my eye with a tent pole!

I love sleeping pictures.

On a walk to see horses.

I think this was at like---6 am. After we'd already eaten breakfast and had several races. Camp life is early life for us. Sad but fun still. We kept saying, "It's not even 8 am yet."

I love my girls!

Fred is getting older. He didn't enjoy this trip at all. He didn't explore, he sat in the back of the car and slept or on his blanket in the shade. Poor guy.

This sunrise was insane. The sun was red and we could look right at it. Incredible.

We went out to the lake with our friends/neighbors! It was so fun!

He loved being on the boat and was fearless jumping into the lake!

So much to look at.

Jake wakesurfing! First time in forever! He's so good! I tried as well, but was unsuccessful.

Em in her element.

G loves the lake!

Cutie pictures I find on my phone

Cousins!

Wade broke this window. He was jumping from a hamper onto my bed and it kicked back and hit the window. Oops.

Emily gave a beautiful talk at church. She wouldn't let us help her (she was mad at us) and it was spectacular.

Our new silkie chickens!

I wish you could hear his voice. I've been recording his voice so much because I never want to forget it.

Us on the tube. When we fell out it was just as fun!
