Our favorite pseudo-Aunt, Aunt Hannah, got married this past weekend! Our family drove out to Vista, California on Friday. We left in the afternoon and had lunch in the car. Wade avoided a nap the entire drive but then fell asleep about 20 minutes away from the house. Miraculously he slept through the car transfer, and the hots of the airbnb already had a pack and play crib up! Talk about a small thing that is really big to me!
We were up early each day, and ended every day with a jacuzzi session! We went to the USS Midway ship in San Diego, and found local parks to play at.
On the day of the wedding, we found a nearby church congregation to join and went home for naps to prepare for the evening. I forgot my own shoes, so Gwen and I did a little Sunday shopping, and it was lovely!
When Wade woke up, we went into full on prep mode for the wedding! Hair curled, Christmas dresses on, lipstick plastered--we all looked beautiful!
Hannah and Jordan (Armand) were a sight to see. She was in a satin ball gown and he wore a red tux. There was a champagne and sparkling cider wall, and we felt so fancy to be in attendance.
The officiant had a beautiful ceremony prepared. He talked about how everyone at the wedding was involved in the couple and how we all could help them have a successful marriage.
I was thinking about how when you get married, it's the peak of the happiness you feel. You've never been more loved by another person in that moment. And then you go through the "sickness and in health, for richer or poorer" parts of life that are really painful and hard, but coming through those moments creates a relationship far richer than you can even imagine. When the officiant talked about the people surrounding the couple being vital for their future, I imagined Jake's and my wedding and being surrounded by OUR people. Our people have supported us through the best and the worst times, and continue to do so.
I recently finished a book called "Wild at Heart:Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul". It left me inspired in so many ways (Mom, read it and then text me so I can talk about it non stop😂) and Hannah and Jordan's wedding reminded me of some themes from the book.
We didn't last all the way through the reception due to Wade being ready to sleep, but we had the best time taking pictures with friends and each other, eating fancy finger foods, and drinking our sparkling cider.
We drove home early and at dinner that night talked about the best and hardest parts of the trips. The bests were 1. Seeing the midway, 2. family time, 3. the wedding, and 4. the jacuzzi every night! The hardest parts were 1. Leaving the midway early because Wade needed a nap, 2. walking around the midway, 3. driving the windy mountain roads, and 4. not having a jacuzzi at our own house.

Cutest girls around. That soda was $1.50. I was blown away at how cheap it was. We bought two more because that's the cheapest I've ever seen a bottle that big in a long time! |

He's so cute. This is after the Midway. Also, this is his favorite shirt. If anyone ever sees another one, buy it. Thank you. |

Hannah and Jordan had an "unplugged" ceremony, but they took a minute for us all to snap a quick picture! |
