December 2021

We had the best December and best Christmas.

We tried new foods often with the girls. They really are becoming more adventurous when it comes to food. Gwen will try anything and Emily is getting better at thinking about trying things.

This was our first year doing gingerbread houses with children. It was so fun and messy.

Emily had her first ballet recital. She did so well and wasn't shy or nervous at all!

We did several Christmas light excursions. We would go to QT for a hot chocolate and then go out to areas we knew had lights (north Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler). We went to an LDS church that puts on a live nativity and some missionaries in the area acted and sang.

We did a lot of shopping together. We went to the mall in Scottsdale and there was no line for Santa! We were able to jump right in with him, and he spent a lot of time talking to the girls. It was sweet.

I had an ugly sweater Christmas party at work and it was so fun. We were spoiled with food, top golf, more food, and gifts! It was so much fun. I really love the people I work with!

We took Gwen and Emily ice skating in downtown Mesa. The ice was really uneven and so it was pretty difficult for them, but we loved it.

For Christmas we went pretty minimal with gifts. We decided to surprise the girls with a trip to Disneyland instead of buying toys and things we don't need! Jake surprised me by booking the Grand Californian and it was so nice! The proximity of the hotel was incredible, and the heated pool was one of our favorite. I'll do a post just about Disney later.

Pre-ice skating. I only took videos on the ice, but they're hysterical!
